Our Focus

At the core, Bracken Lane Partners help owners achieve their business goals (sale of company, retirement, raise growth capital) by connecting them with high quality capital sources. Our clients are often looking to form long-term partnerships vs. just selling their companies. Because of this, we have spent many years assembling a large national network of high integrity capital sources that we feel meet the high standards of working with our clients. Many private equity firms don’t make our list!

When Do Clients Hire Bracken Lane Partners?

There are three primary scenarios in which business owners will engage Bracken Lane Partners:

1) When an owner receives an unsolicited offer to buy their company – Bringing us in can help push valuation and terms, and add credible pressure on a buyer to NOT “re-trade” the deal price (we are always ready to talk to other buyers.)

2) When an owner is looking to sell all or part of their business – Depending on owner goals, we have a variety of transaction options to consider.

3) When a Company has a significant growth opportunity – bringing in a partner can provide external capital to facilitate the expansion while also bringing the experience from an investor of growing a larger company.  Additionally, the owner could have the opportunity to “take chips off the table” to diversify their personal wealth.

Our Strategy and Process

Bracken Lane’s strategy is to create a customized M&A process for every transaction that is fully based on an owner’s goals. Additionally, we are leveraging our “Upper Market” experience (developed while working 25 years at Wells Fargo Securities, KeyBanc Capital Markets and Umpqua Bank) for the benefit of “Lower Market” companies. We find that larger investment banks are usually cost prohibitive for lower market transactions due to their demand for large minimum fees. At the smaller end, we see local brokers not having the national network or experience to run a successful national process.

Bracken Lane is “process focused” versus “industry focused”. We are focused on situations where our customized process can help deliver strong results for our clients.

Our process design and transaction execution is differentiated by:

- How we position your Company: We work with you to understand the investment opportunity, and then craft a story that encourages buyers to look at the growth trajectory of the business versus just historical performance.

- Senior attention at every step of the process: We are a two-partner team. No analyst or junior advisor will be leading any step of your deal. We also do not outsource.

- How we leverage our network: Over the years, we have developed a Network of national private equity relationships that meet our “integrity test.”

  • No broad auctions! We are matchmaking vs. just finding an acquiror.
  • Proven relationship partners with high integrity, no “bad actors.”
